Friday: Travel, exploration and night out #1 (264 images in 19 chapters)

The trip started on Friday morning at the Karlsruhe train station - from where we took the TGV train to Paris. After we had checked in to the hotel, we went out for lunch in the "Rue Mouffetard", a colorful street ligned with restaurants, bars and cafes. In the afternoon, we walked towards the Seine , visited Centre Pompidou and the Louvre before heading out into the night in the 5th arrondissement of Paris.

Piton de la Fournaise (255 images in 9 chapters)

One of the most exciting trips was our day's excursion to the Piton de la Fournaise (or just: "le Volcan":-)). Having gotten up early in the morning, we arrived at the parking space at the end of the "Rue de Volcan" at 10 o'clock and hiked through fog until we reached the "Cratère Dolomieu" and the sun started breaking through. If you look at satellite imagery, it all looks black and gray, but in real it's a bit more colorful.

After a boat trip on the Seine river, we went to see the Notre dame and the Sainte-Chapelle, both located on the Île de la Cité. Along the riverside there are hundreds of small street vendors selling books, post cards, art work and music.

Friday: Tapas y seis cañas, por favor! (137 images in 11 chapters)

On Friday morning we headed out to Baden Airpark, Karlsruhe and Baden-Baden's airport, starting out the trip with beer and pretzels before getting on the plane. Having arrived in Barcelona, we had to take an hour's bus ride to the downtown area. After we checked in to the hotel we started our tapas and beer tour through Barcelona's picturesque old town, ending it at about 4 in the morning.
