At 7:30, the first dish of the six course menu was served. As the evening continued, more courses were served, we played games, danced, laughed, ate and drank. The night ended roughly around 4 o'clock in the morning.

After the hike, we enjoyed a plentiful meal with the contributed salads everyone had brought along. Suzanne gave us a presentation of her last ten years' highlights, Ingrid started a "guess the song from the melody" game and us kids simulate a day in the Remetschwiel "Dorfschule" for the foreign exchange student Suzanne, before we lit a bonfire at midnight and toasted for the birthday child!

Driving down south to the Cap Méchant ("the malicious cape") in cloudy and windy (but nonetheless warm) weather. On the way back, we thought of visiting Entre-Deux but turned around after landing in a rain shower (and decided to come back later).

At the "Pointe des Trois-Bassins" beach, a surfing location, with some shady places underneath trees, relaxing from our exhausting six hours hike the day before.

Julia's 30th birthday and welcome-back-from-Dubai party in the Kap, with her family and friends. The photo accessory item for today was a pair of glasses colored in the German flag's colors - which maybe helped us win against Argentina the next day:-)

Back in the boatshouse, we started with a champagne reception, went over to coffee and cake, and - with a clear blue sky and hot weather - were thankful to jump into the Rhine river to cool off before having dinner later.

We met at the Karlsruhe main station at shortly before seven to board the ICE train bound for Paris, arriving there less than four hours later and after travelling through most of France at 320 km/h.
